Debora Missoorten paintings are  inspired by personal memories and thoughts about life in general. She brings small and big issues and questions of our everyday life into her paintings and she loves to do this in a rather 'playful' and storytelling way .

The use of a specific color scheme adds a feeling of idealization and sentiment to her art.

Some of her paintings are permeated with an idealized vision of the world others are filled with second thoughts and questions.  

For her , painting is a way of journaling, an attempt to depict a transient moment in liberty of interpretation. she wants to make use of this liberty as much as possible to avoid  her work becomes predictable.

This is her way to create her own world .
